Peer Review Process

Overview

At Manganite | Journal of Chemistry and Education, we follow a rigorous peer review process to ensure the quality and validity of the scholarly articles we publish. Peer review is an essential part of scholarly publishing, and it helps to maintain the integrity of the research and enhance the credibility of the journal. This page provides an overview of our peer review process, from manuscript submission to publication.

Submission and Initial Assessment

  1. Manuscript Submission: Authors are required to submit their research papers, reviews, or other scholarly works through our online submission system. The manuscript should adhere to the journal's guidelines and formatting requirements.

  2. Editorial Assessment: Upon submission, the editorial team performs an initial assessment to ensure that the manuscript aligns with the journal's scope and follows the ethical guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be returned to the authors at this stage.

Peer Review

  1. Reviewer Assignment: The editor-in-chief or an assigned editor selects suitable reviewers with expertise in the subject area of the submitted manuscript. Reviewers are typically experts in the field who can evaluate the paper's scientific merit, originality, methodology, and significance.

  2. Blind Peer Review: The review process is double-blinded, meaning that the identities of both the reviewers and the authors remain anonymous throughout the evaluation. This ensures an impartial assessment of the manuscript.

  3. Peer Review Report: Reviewers critically evaluate the manuscript and provide constructive feedback in a detailed peer review report. They assess the strengths, weaknesses, and overall quality of the work.

  4. Editorial Decision: Based on the feedback from the reviewers, the editor makes an editorial decision, which could be one of the following:

    • Acceptance: The manuscript is accepted for publication without any further revisions.
    • Minor Revisions: The authors are asked to address specific concerns raised by the reviewers before final acceptance.
    • Major Revisions: The authors are required to make substantial revisions to the manuscript to address significant issues raised during the review process.
    • Rejection: The manuscript does not meet the journal's criteria for publication.

Author Revisions

  1. Author Response: If revisions are requested, the authors are given an opportunity to respond to the reviewers' comments and make the necessary changes to the manuscript.

  2. Re-review (if necessary): In some cases, revised manuscripts may be sent back to the original reviewers for re-evaluation.

Final Decision and Publication

  1. Final Decision: After the authors submit their revised manuscript, the editor-in-chief or assigned editor reviews the changes and makes the final decision on acceptance.

  2. Publication: Accepted manuscripts are published in the journal, and the corresponding authors are notified. The article is then made available to readers as part of the open-access policy.

Timeframe

The peer review process duration may vary depending on the complexity of the research and the responsiveness of the authors and reviewers. We strive to maintain a timely and efficient review process while ensuring the quality of published articles.
