R-W-C Policy

The Retraction, Withdrawal, & Correction (R-W-C) policy at Khidmatuna: Journal of Research and Community Service ensures the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of the scholarly content published in our journal. This policy outlines the procedures for addressing articles that require retraction, withdrawal, or correction, and the responsibilities of authors and the editorial team.

Retraction Process

When Retraction Is Considered: Articles may be retracted if they contain significant errors, fraudulent data, unethical conduct, or other serious issues that compromise the validity and reliability of the research. The decision to retract an article is made based on thorough investigation and evaluation by the editorial team.

Steps in Retraction:

  1. Initiation: The editorial team initiates the retraction process upon identifying concerns or receiving valid complaints.
  2. Investigation: A comprehensive investigation is conducted to assess the validity of the concerns raised and determine the necessity of retraction.
  3. Author Notification: The corresponding author is informed about the decision to retract the article and the reasons for retraction.
  4. Public Announcement: The retraction is publicly announced on the journal's website, clearly indicating the reasons for retraction and providing a link to the original article.

Withdrawal Process

Author-Requested Withdrawal: Authors may request the withdrawal of their manuscript before publication due to valid reasons such as errors, inaccuracies, or unforeseen circumstances.

Withdrawal Procedure:

  1. Author Request: The corresponding author submits a formal request for withdrawal, explaining the reasons and providing supporting documentation.
  2. Editorial Assessment: The editorial team evaluates the request and documentation to determine the validity of the withdrawal.
  3. Withdrawal Confirmation: If the request is approved, the article is withdrawn from the publication process, and the decision is communicated to the corresponding author.

Correction Process

When Correction Is Needed: Minor errors, inaccuracies, or omissions that do not fundamentally affect the overall findings or conclusions of an article may require correction.

Correction Procedure:

  1. Error Identification: Authors or readers identify errors and report them to the editorial team.
  2. Editorial Assessment: The editorial team assesses the nature and impact of the error to determine the appropriate correction action.
  3. Correction Notice: A correction notice, such as an "Erratum," is issued, clearly describing the error and providing the corrected information.

Transparency and Communication

Khidmatuna is dedicated to maintaining transparency throughout the R-W-C process. All retracted, withdrawn, or corrected articles are clearly documented on the journal's website, providing readers with accurate and updated information. Authors are encouraged to collaborate closely with the editorial team to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the scholarly record.
