Plagiarism Policy
To safeguard academic integrity and guarantee the authenticity of published work, Prevenire requires all submitted manuscripts to undergo a mandatory plagiarism check prior to peer review. The journal employs trusted plagiarism detection software (such as Turnitin or iThenticate) to assess textual similarities. Submissions exhibiting a similarity score above 20%—excluding correctly attributed references, direct quotes, and common phrases—will either be sent back to the author for corrections or declined, based on the extent and nature of the duplication.
Prevenire enforces a strict zero-tolerance stance on all types of plagiarism, encompassing self-plagiarism and the unauthorized incorporation of AI-generated content. Authors are expected to provide accurate citations for any borrowed material—whether ideas, data, or text—and to demonstrate original scholarly work in their submissions. In cases where plagiarism is identified post-publication, the journal may take corrective actions, including article retraction, notification of the author’s institution, and communication with relevant indexing services. Authors bear sole responsibility for ensuring the originality and ethical compliance of their manuscripts.
