Screening Plagiarism

Experimental Student Experiences (ESE) is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and originality in scholarly publications. As part of our efforts to ensure the authenticity of submitted manuscripts, all papers submitted to ESE will undergo a thorough screening for plagiarism using the "iThenticate" and "Turnitin" plagiarism detection tools.

Plagiarism Screening Process

Upon submission, each manuscript will be subject to a comprehensive plagiarism check using both "iThenticate" and "Turnitin." These tools compare the submitted text with a vast database of academic and non-academic sources, including published articles, conference proceedings, theses, and web content, to identify potential instances of plagiarism.

Maximum Similarity Index

ESE has set a maximum similarity index of 30% for all submitted manuscripts. This means that the overall similarity between the submitted paper and existing sources, excluding a single reference, should not exceed 30%. If the similarity index exceeds this threshold, the manuscript will be carefully reviewed by our Editorial Board to determine the nature and extent of the similarities.

Addressing Similarities

In cases where a manuscript exhibits a similarity index above the accepted threshold, the Editorial Board will carefully assess the identified similarities to distinguish between appropriate scholarly citations and potential instances of plagiarism. If any instances of plagiarism or self-plagiarism are identified, the manuscript will be immediately rejected and returned to the authors for necessary corrections.

Ethical Considerations

Authors are expected to ensure that their submitted manuscripts are original and properly cited. Any use of another author's work, ideas, or words must be appropriately acknowledged. Plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, is considered a serious breach of academic integrity and will not be tolerated.
